Mediterranean or Caribbean, that is the question

 title=

Choosing the destination is one of the most important decisions you make before traveling. And, if you are going to sail, you must pay close attention to the sea where you will do it.

There are many more seas in which to sail, of course, but because of that comparison that we have all sometimes fallen into, we have decided to summarize here some of the important things in which the Mediterranean Sea and the Caribbean Sea differ.

LOCATION

The Mediterranean is a sea "in the middle of lands", hence its name. Located in the northern hemisphere, between Europe, Africa and Asia, it is in contact with the Atlantic Ocean through the Strait of Gibraltar to the west and with the Red Sea to the south through the Suez Canal. Instead, the Caribbean is located in the Western Hemisphere, between North America and South America and is an open sea towards the tropical Atlantic Ocean.

CLIMATE

As far as the climate is concerned, in the Caribbean it is tropical. That means heat and humidity, in general. But, in the Mediterranean, in general, there is not so much humidity. In summer, dry heat and, in winter, rain and cold.

DESTINATIONS

Due to their different situation, choosing one sea or another will limit us to certain places to navigate. The Mediterranean bathes around twenty countries on the European, African and Asian coasts. But the Caribbean accompanies the coast of several American countries, because it begins between the Yucatan Peninsula and Cuba and ends in the Lesser Antilles.

WATER TEMPERATURE

The Caribbean is much warmer, although climate change has increasingly caused the waters of the Mediterranean to reach temperatures that would have been unthinkable for this sea years ago.

BEACHES

The beaches can be both sandy and rocky, in the Mediterranean. However, Caribbean beaches are usually sandy. A very fine white sand, which is not really sand but the result of seeing many mini coral particles together.

Well, after telling you all this... which one do you prefer?
