Abacos is a group of islands and keys in a boomerang-formed Caín, which spreads for 130 miles from Walker’s Cay in the north to Hole-in-the-Wall in the south. It is found at about 175 miles east of Palm Beach, and 106 miles north of Nassau. Ábaco’s area is 650 square miles. The formation creates naturally protected waters, which are commonly referred to as the Abaco Sea, which must be one of the favourite spots for sailing cruisers, many of which come from far away.
Known as "The World Capital of Sail", Abacos is number one in nautical activity and sailing. Its ports are very busy from Spring through to Autumn. But one can also find excellent fishing, diving, snorkelling, water sports, and, of course, the cultural attractions that complete the year-round Abacos experience.
The five most important inhabited keys are Walker's Cay, Green Turtle Cay, Gran Guana Cay, Man-O-War Cay y Elbow Cay, colonial towns that are the jewels of the architecture of New England. And the ecosystem offers a rich open-air experience to all Nature lovers.
