Nanaimo is known as one of the regions with the mildest climates in the whole country, a fact that attracts many visitors. The coldest months, between November and February, tend to have high temperatures ranging between 6ºC and 9ºC, while low temperatures are from 0ºC to 2ºC. Summer months, between June and September, have mean daily high temperatures of 20ºC, averaging low temperatures at around 10ºC.

The rains are heaviest in November and December, with a monthly average of 170 milimetres.
