St. Lucia is a small country located north of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and south of the island of Martinique in the Caribbean Sea. It is a member of the Caribbean Community, the Organization of American States and the British Commonwealth of Nations.
This island is of volcanic formation. It is crossed by a mountain range, from north to south. The tallest mountain is Mount Gimie of 959 meters. To the south there is the volcano Qualibou that pours sulphurous fumes and hot springs which are an attraction for visitors, besides producing geothermal energy.
Among the nicest places that can be visited on the island, there is the hill of Monte Fortune, from where you can see the panorama of the city port, the landscapes of the island and the Caribbean Sea in all its beauty, as well as the Falls of Diamond falling from 304 meters from the volcano, where the temperature is 41 º C. You can also visit the natural reserves and mangroves. Sea turtles spawn on the island between March and August.
