The New Caledonia Islands, located in the South Pacific between Australia and Fiji, are the postcard image of tropical paradise. Anyone who has been fortunate enough to travel aboard a yacht charter in the area never tires of describing the thousand and one wonders this place holds: idyllic beaches, gorgeous bays for anchoring, an impressive underwater world to explore, pristine jungle, waterfalls and the second largest coral barrier in the world which surrounds the main island, Grande Terre.
Nature in New Caledonia remains practically intact and is in equilibrium with the development of tourism which offers seafarers modern marinas equipped with everything you need for your boat charter. If you’re thinking about travelling here, we recommend you charter a catamaran in the capital, Nouméa, skirt the coast of Grande Terre and then cruise to the neighbouring islands: the Isle of Pines in the south, Loyalty Islands (Maré, Tiga, Lifou and Ouvéa) in the east, Chesterfield Islands in the west and Belep Islands in the north. Gastronomy is another one of the strong points of the archipelago. The influence of French cuisine (New Caledonia is a French Overseas territory) is evident in restaurants where you can savour delicious fish and seafood from the lagoons (coral lagoons). New Caledonia has everything it takes to make your holiday aboard a boat the best you’ve ever experienced.
