Barcelona - Cala Algaiarens - Sanitja - Colom - Mahon - Macarella - Ciutadela - Barcelona
We start from Barcelona where we will have collected our rental boat. Sailboat, yacht or catamaran, we leave that decision in your hands, yes, you cannot leave the city without having visited some of its most representative areas. A walk along the Rambla and dropping by the Palau Moja, the popular Boqueria Market and the emblematic Liceu, will serve to take your pulse of the city.
The first stop we offer you in Menorca will leave you breathless. It is the Algaiarens cove, a beach located in the north of the island, with a purely wild aspect and one of the best preserved on the island. The north of Menorca has a rougher orography compared to the south, but precisely for this reason, its beaches are less crowded by tourists and it are Menorcans who frequent them the most. Although you must take into account that Menorca has known how to take control and there are no crowds.
We will continue heading east until we reach Sanitja, a small natural port with a shallow draft that is located at the Cavalleria cape and from which we will see its legendary lighthouse - by the way, unforgettable sunsets are contemplated here. It is not uncommon to find yourself in the small wooden boats tied up that give it a special charm. The views from the boat are spectacular due to the majestic cliffs that line the cape, so do not hesitate to enjoy the landscape because it is truly wonderful.
Colom Island will be our next stop. This islet is the largest of those surrounding the Menorcan coast and, with an extension of almost 59 hectares, it has only two buildings: a wooden house and a house from the 18th century. Its beaches are completely virgin and invite to a delicious bath in each one of them and to practice scuba diving since its seabed shelters some very rich Posidonia meadows and its crystalline waters allow you to observe the varied fauna that inhabits it.
And from the absolute tranquility of Colom to the activity of Mahón, capital of the island. Immerse yourself in their customs and enjoy the port area is one of the best plans. You can not miss the Fortress of La Mola, at the mouth of the port, have a coffee in the surroundings of the Claustro Market, or stroll through the commercial area where you will find small shops with local crafts where you will not be able to avoid buying any detail.
The Macarella cove is one of the jewels of Menorca. Its waters of intense blue and sand are postcard, in fact there are those who assure that it is the most beautiful cove on the island, in addition the extensive area of pine trees that surrounds it makes it especially cozy. Bathing in Macarella is a different experience because it is the closest thing to being in paradise. Anchoring in its waters and recreating in its colors from the deck of the boat while you taste a mojito is another matter.
