The Placencia peninsula is in the southern part of Belize. It offers to the visitor its beautiful lagoon and rainforest and various Mayan ruins, 25 miles of white sand beach filled with coconut trees and wooden houses painted in colors, many of which are for rent for tourists. Here you can escape the noise of civilization but with the assurance that you will find lodging, food stores and medical care. Do not be surprised if when you arrive at home you want to go back to Placencia.
