Located in Gouvia Marina, the Corfu harbour base is one of the most important on the Ionian Islands. Those wishing to set out from Corfu need to bear in mind that doing so involves two extra internal flights, and that it is advisable to spend a night in a hotel upon arrival on the island (Friday is the best day to arrive, in order to begin preparing on Saturday morning). This harbour is recommended as a starting point for sailing among the Ionian Islands.

Athens is the capital of Greece, the country's largest city and the cradle of Western Civilization. It has three and a half million inhabitants.

The Port of Lavrion is located close to Cape Sounion, where is the temple of Poseidon. It is 40 minutes by taxi from Athens airport. It is another starting point for the Cyclades islands and the Saronic islands.

The national and international airport is Eleftherios Venizelos. Greece has a strong network of airports with daily departures to its main islands of Crete, Milos, Syros, Kos, Skiathos, Paros, Rhodes, Corfu, Santorini.
