This is a city situated in the province of Sassari in the northwest of Sardinia. The economy, traditionally based in agriculture (vegetables, cereals, frute, vineyards, olives and pasture) animal husbandry and fishing, now turns around seasonal tourism, thanks to the increase in hotel space, and industry (mechanical, foodstuffs, wood derivatives and milk). The production of handwork from coral is one of the typical activities of the town, which also boasts a fishing port and a Marina, as well as its own airport (Fertilia).
Among the most significant monuments of the city are the towers of the Polveriera, San Giacomo (octagonally formed), Sperone, San Giovanni and Porta a Terra, as well as the late Gothic cathedral, and the church of San Francesco, begun in the XIV century and completed in successive époques. The church of the Misericordia conserves a unique wooden Christ figure with jointed arms, which dates from the XVII century.
Alguer is the most characteristic tourist centre on the Coral Riviera, with its coastline rich in solitary coves with delicate, hidden beaches bordered by thick pine forests, and steep cliffs washed by an emerald sea. Its climate, always mild, the clarity and the extraordinary colours of the sea, the perfume of the Mediterranean flora invite one to an agreeable and worry free stay.
In the southernmost corner of Corsica lies Bonifacio, the jewel of Corsica. From the heights of the cliffs Bonifacio has defied gravity for more than a thousand years, and is unique as much for its history as for its extraordinary geographical position.
We can divide the city in two parts: one lower, which corresponds to the marina or the harbour zone, and another higher, where one finds the citadel, which is constructed on a white limestone rock, surrounded by a sea of intense turquoise, from which one can see Sardinia and the Straits of Bonifacio which separate the two islands.
These days, Bonifacio enters into the plans of many tourists, but its remains are intact. Sometimes referred to as the “City on the Cliffs”, traces of the antique buildings can be found in the fortified walls of the citadel. The lighthouse at Timon point shows the entry into Bonifacio harbour from the sea. There are bars and restaurant terraces, ice-cream salesmen and boutiques, all welcoming the visitors in this enchanting spot where the waves lap against the quays.
Bonifacio is the perfect place to visit, to look around its incredible natural environment and explore its delights, enjoying the views, its beaches, and the possibilities offered by this part of Corsica for water sports, especially those concerned with sailing.

Situated on a cliff, Mahón is the capital of Minorca. It has a splendid natural harbour in the form of a deep inlet extending some three miles inland. Mahón is a city that has successfully adapted the legacy of its colonial past to modern times.
The city enjoys a strategic position in the centre of the Mediterranean, where it is sheltered from the north wind and the fury of the sea.
Travelling inland on the crystal clear waters of Mahón’s harbour, it is possible to reach the centre of the city in just a few minutes, via a route steeped in nature. The harbour has a refuelling station, toilet and shower facilities, water, electricity, a hotel, restaurants, a bar, a dry dock, a mobile lift, nautical items, a mechanic, a harbour master’s office, a yacht club, a supermarket, a first aid point and a laundry.
Ciudadela was formerly the capital of Minorca. Its harbour is hidden away in a narrow cove that is more than a kilometre long. The harbour is used by commercial, fishing and passenger boats, although a number of berths are available for recreational vessels passing through. The harbour has 174 berths, a refuelling station, a bar and restaurant, a workshop, a maritime channel, drinking water and a crane service. It also provides meteorological information.
