This time, we are going to introduce you another member of the team of nautical advisors who you will know a little more thanks to this short interview.
1. When and how was your first experience in the world of sailing?
My first experience was more than four years ago in the Cyclades islands, in Greece. We went from Paros to Antiparos and to Naxos. I did not yet work as a Nautical Broker nor did I have any qualifications and I was totally captivated by the turquoise color of those waters. Also being able to live the experience from the sea. Subsequently, I earned the GNP and then the PER, to delve even further into the world of navigation and to be able to navigate in all the wonderful places that I offer to our clients.
2. Finish the sentence: NAVIGATION FOR ME IS...
A lifestyle that allows me to disconnect from the modern world and reconnect thanks to the beauty and serenity of the sea.
3. If you had your own boat, what would you call it and why?
"Nice bow." It is a phrase that sailors use to wish each other good luck.
4. Which trip have you enjoyed the most and why?
On the last nautical charter I did in Corfu with my wife, especially because I was able to apply and practice what I learned with my degree and see first-hand the entire process that I offer to my clients. Also, of course, for the spectacular places I visited.
5. What is the moment or time you like the most during each trip?
Waking up in the morning in a lonely cove and being able to take the first swim of the day. I also enjoy being able to get off the boat in the afternoons to go to towns and get to know the local culture and gastronomy.
6. Can you tell us about any big scare you've had while sailing?
Well, while sailing from Antipaxos to Paxos on the charter to Corfu, a thunderstorm came in that made us have to get to the port quickly to take shelter and stay there all day.
7. And any anecdote that you remember and want to share?
We met the owner of a local restaurant on Lakka Island through the owner, the place was very peculiar because to order the owner would take you to the kitchen where all the typical Greek dishes were and would recite them to you one by one (composition, etc. ) to each diner in their language, incredible and all very good
8. What is the most important learning you have learned from your entire experience at sea?
Respect for nature, the ability to adapt and patience.
9. What destination do you plan to go to soon?
To Sardinia.
10. Lastly, any advice to give to someone who has never sailed?
Let them take the first step and try it. Of course, choosing the destination well. Sailing for a few hours and combining navigation with trips to land to get to know each place well and make the experience more complete.
